
The CHS Scholastic Bowl team was invited to participate in the NAQT State Illinois for Small School Tournament. They had a successful weekend, placing 6th overall out of 11 teams. Lauren Stevens received a Rising Star medal that is awarded to the top 4 Freshman or Sophomores in the tournament. Nice work, team!

Update from the state girls wrestling meet: Natalie Beaumont won both her matches today and will wrestle in the semifinals tomorrow morning. Summer Nichols's season ended today finishing with a record of 10-6. We are proud of you, girls!


Students in Mrs. Lee's Consumer Math class have been studying about buying a car, and they recently visited several businesses in the community to learn more about the process. They learned about interest rates, deductibles, down payments, credit scores, and so much more. The students even practiced leaving a tip at lunch! The class would like to thank Chris at JKMitchell, Lauren at Country Companies, and Kevin at First Neighbor Bank for sharing their knowledge on the car buying process.


The Math Applications class is working with the Intro to Industrial Arts class to design a house. Students are using Rhino 3D software to draw the house plans and then they'll calculate the costs to build the house without labor.

The CHS Art Club participated in the 3rd Annual Magnet Exchange Program. Schools across the US signed up with the exchange program to create magnets based on the theme “We ALL Grow Together.” The magnets were designed to represent things that grow in the school's region such as plants, trees, bushes, flowers, fruits, or vegetables. Each school received a magnet from the other schools participating in the program. 77 schools participated from 73 cities in 33 different states!

Mrs. Lee's Basic Earth Science class was divided into two groups to build a model of the solar system. The teachers voted, and the one with the black background won the friendly contest! Both groups of students did an excellent job with accurate colors and display.



The CHS National Honor Society held its new member induction on Sunday. Congratulations to all of the new members of NHS!









The CHS Scholastic Bowl team competed at the Masonic Sectional at Meridian High School on Saturday. The team placed 1st overall! The team will now participate in Masonic State at Bloomington on March 8. Good luck!


Good luck to the boys varsity basketball team as they take on Robinson tonight in the opening game of the Regional! Come out and support them in this home game beginning at 7 PM. Admission for this game is $6.00. There will be no live streaming of the game because of IHSA policy.


Cumberland High School junior, Owen McGinnis, finished the IHSA state wrestling tournament with a record of 1 win and 2 losses. Congratulations Owen on a fine season!

Alysa Dittamore is ranked number 6 for the most rebounds in a season in IHSA history with her 526 rebounds this season. Congratulations Alysa!
