Cumberland High School

Cumberland High School will host Scholarship Night on Tuesday, May 14, at 7:00 PM in the high school cafeteria.

The University of Illinois a cappella vocal ensemble, The Xtension Chords, visited the high school choir students this morning and performed a set of their own arrangements from their year of competing and touring. Jaykob Archer, a Cumberland graduate, is the president of this group this year. The students enjoyed the performance and asked great questions!

Last Thursday, the high school students were rewarded with breakfast and Bingo. Those who qualified had good behavior, grades, and attendance for the quarter.

Congratulations to Katelyn Shoemaker on qualifying for the IHSA state track meet! She jumped 4.92 m (16' 1.75") in long jump at Sectionals to earn second place and secure her spot to compete Thursday at State. Good Luck!

Cumberland High School held its Academic Awards ceremony yesterday. Congratulations to all of the award recipients!

Today, we celebrate the bus drivers, cooks, custodians, maintenance staff, and resource officers at Cumberland. These hardworking individuals help keep things around the district running smoothly. Thank you for everything!

Yesterday, the National Honor Society members made breakfast for the teachers in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week!

Mrs. Becker's speech class wrote special occasion speeches as part of their mock weddings to finish their course. One class decided on a beach wedding, and the other on an early 2000 millennial wedding.

It is Staff Appreciation Week at Cumberland! Today, we are celebrating our secretaries, counselors, social worker, and school psychologist. Thank you for all you do for our students, staff, and community!

Join us on Tuesday, May 7, for an evening of family fun! The food trucks are back and will be here from 4:00-6:30 PM. Head into the elementary and middle school to see student work and art displayed, visit the Scholastic Book Fair, and check out the Star Lab! At 7 PM, walk over to the high school for Fine Arts Night. There will be displays from the art and industrial arts classes. Following the art show will be a band and choir concert. We hope to see you there!
