
The CHS Lady Pirates are hosting a basketball camp May 22-24. Girls in grades 1-8 for the 2024-25 school year are invited to attend. All schools are welcome.

The CHS Environment Club plans to host a coffee cart for the students, and they are seeking donations. Donations are due by April 12. For more information, contact Mrs. Gibson at tgibson@cusd77.org.


The CHS softball game scheduled with Tuscola on May 9 has been canceled.

The Bio 100 students made their annual trek to the Greenup Cemetery. Each year the class collects population data for a population ecology class.



Today's baseball game (4/4) will now be played at John's Hill Magnet School in Decatur. The address is 1025 E. John's Avenue, and the field is on the corner of Jasper and Whitmer. Start time is still 4:30.

The Junior class is selling raffle tickets to help offset the cost of their prom and graduation. The raffle will be held on April 19, .2024. You may go to any Junior student or Mr. Roedl to purchase tickets.
Tickets are $10 each and only 500 tickets will be sold. There will be 4 winners drawn. The winner does not have to be present to win.

The Cumberland National Honor Society is looking for donations of fleece to make tie blankets. These blankets will be donated to Project Linus, an organization that provides blankets to children who are ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need. These blankets will be distributed to children in the Central Illinois area.
Donations can be sent with your child to school or can be dropped off at the high school office by April 9. Questions may be sent to Mrs. Becker at tbecker@cusd77.org.

Reminder: School will dismiss at 2:20 on Wednesday, March 27. Easter Break is from March 28 - April 1. School resumes on April 2.


The Dual Credit Speech students attended the LLC Communications Open House where they practiced recording ads, using a green screen, and speaking on the radio.
