Mrs. Becker's speech class wrote special occasion speeches as part of their mock weddings to finish their course. One class decided on a beach wedding, and the other on an early 2000 millennial wedding.



It is Staff Appreciation Week at Cumberland! Today, we are celebrating our secretaries, counselors, social worker, and school psychologist. Thank you for all you do for our students, staff, and community!

Join us on Tuesday, May 7, for an evening of family fun! The food trucks are back and will be here from 4:00-6:30 PM.
Head into the elementary and middle school to see student work and art displayed, visit the Scholastic Book Fair, and check out the Star Lab!
At 7 PM, walk over to the high school for Fine Arts Night. There will be displays from the art and industrial arts classes. Following the art show will be a band and choir concert.

The softball game vs Newton today (4/30) has been canceled.

The Heritage baseball game from last night (4/29) has been rescheduled for Thursday, May 9, and will start at 4:30 PM. We will no longer play North Clay on that date.

The FFA Plant Sale begins today at the greenhouse from 4-6 PM!


BIO 100 made their annual trek to Douglas-Hart Nature Center in Mattoon. They learned about different ecosystems and invasive species. They even got in some zip-lining before they left!

On April 20, the IHSSBCA held their annual banquet at Illinois State where Camden James of CHS was awarded a medal for making the All-State Class A 2nd team. Congratulations Camden!



Zack Buescher and Katelyn Shoemaker represented Cumberland High School at the Lincoln Prairie Conference senior luncheon at Kaskaskia Country Club in Arcola today.


The Foods II students took a field trip to Effingham. They visited Niemerg's restaurant where baked goods were served for breakfast, and then they toured the bakery. Next, they went to Firefly Grill where they ate lunch and toured the kitchen. Students learned about various aspects of each restaurant's business.
