
Biology II students solved a "crime" with biotechnology! With the help of blood typing and DNA found at the scene, Mrs. Peters was found to be the guilty party.

The baseball and softball games at Cumberland today (4/18) have been moved up to a 4:00 PM start time.

On Friday, April 12, the Cumberland HS Art Club went to EIU for the LOVE for the Arts annual conference. Local schools compete in a juried art show and the students participate in workshops in the morning and afternoon. Cumberland High School tied with Blue Ridge for first place for the most awards given. The following students placed individually: Mara Ferguson: Beginning Drawing - 3rd place Rachel Starwalt: Advanced Drawing - 1st place Ani Edwards: Beginning Painting - 2nd place/Advanced Painting - 2nd place Maddy Cutright: Mixed Media - 1st place Mara Ferguson: Digital Art - 2nd place Lillian Ryan: Ceramics - 1st place Jadynn Kearns: Ceramics - 3rd place Kaylah Boswell: Functional Arts - 1st place and "Best of Day"


The high school choir students visited The Little Theatre on the Square to watch The Lion King, starring two of our own, Austin Becker and Rachel Starwalt!



High School Sports Updates (4/16):
**The start time for the softball game has been moved up to 4:00 PM.
**The start time for the Pirate Invite track meet has been moved up to 4:00 PM.

Last Friday, Jon Flier, Jonah Tibbs, Issac Venatta, and Mitchell Blade attended the first technology challenge at EIU. Jon placed first in coding, Jonah placed first in resume building, and Issac placed 2nd in engineering. The group placed 3rd in the team challenge. Overall, it was a great day and a great experience!




Softball has added a Varsity and JV softball game tomorrow (4-13) @ Flora. The first game will begin at 10:00 AM.

The Arcola softball game has been rescheduled for Saturday, April 20, at 10:00 AM. We will no longer be playing Hutsonville-Palestine on that date.
