
In recognition of Earth Day, the CHS Biology classes picked up trash around the District’s campus yesterday. We appreciate their help in keeping our schools looking great!







Any student who is interested in participating in the 2023 high school cross country program is encouraged to attend an informational meeting with his or her parent on May 7 at 2:00 PM in the high school cafeteria.

Congratulations to our cafeteria staff! In their recent food inspections, the Elementary/Middle School and High School each received the Perfect Score Award! This award is achieved through hard work, cleanliness, food safety, and excellent food handling practices.

Baseball today at Arcola has been postponed. The game has been rescheduled for May 3rd at 4:30 PM.

Gavin Hendrix and Abbie Becker represented Cumberland High School at the Lincoln Praire Conference Senior luncheon in Arthur today. They were recognized for their dedication to LPC extracurriculars and for being an outstanding student.



The National Honor Society of Cumberland High School will host their annual banquet on Sunday, April 30 starting at 5:30 PM in the high school gym.

Seniors in Speech class practiced their digital communications skills by maintaining a mock YouTube channel throughout the semester. Today was share day. Emi taught the class how to do a cartwheel from her channel, “Tumbling Through Life,” and Kendra taught the class a dance from her channel, “K’s Favorite Choreo.”



Today was the ACES State competition at Eastern Illinois University. Michael Beaumont placed 4th in Biology, Mitchell Blade placed 2nd in Engineering Graphics and 3rd in Computer Science, Lillian Ryan placed 2nd in English and 5th in Mathematics, and Marshall Tipsword placed 5th in Physics. Congratulations!

The high school Art Club is hosting two more after-school art classes this semester. The classes are $20 each. There are only 10 spots left for each session, so sign up soon!


Prom tickets will go on sale beginning on Tuesday, April 11, during high school lunch. Tickets are $30 for Juniors and guests of Juniors/Seniors.

Ms. Voss hosted a March Madness bracket competition for the NCAA tournament. The winning class, Mr. Owen's 7th hour, got ice cream!



The baseball game against OPH has been rescheduled for Wednesday, April 19, at 4:30 PM.

The baseball and softball games scheduled for today (4/5) have been canceled.

Today is Paraprofessional Appreciation Day! Thank you to all of our paraprofessionals for everything you do for our schools!


The softball game against Casey has been rescheduled for April 15 at 9 AM. There will also be a second game that day at 12:30 against Georgetown Ridge Farm.
