The CHS cross country team competed at the Tuscola Invite this past Saturday. The boys placed 5th out of 23 teams! The award recipients were Cameron Roedl, 14th, Gavin Whitaker, 33rd, Kaleb Bierman, 47th, Kade Bradley, 54th, Riley Morgan, 65th, and Jacob Pierce 75th. The team travels to St Joseph-Odgen next Saturday, September 28.

This past weekend, the high school cross country split and competed at two locations. The JV ran at Shelbyville and placed 10th. Jacob Pierce medaled with 23rd overall with a time of 18:05. The Varsity ran at First to the Finish at Detweiller Park in Peoria, IL. Cameron Roedl, pictured, medaled and placed 33rd out of 607 runners with a time of 16:21.

Vocal Velocity is an a cappella vocal ensemble that is an extension of the high school choir. This group performs the National Anthem as well as music for other times of the year, including homecoming, Christmas, and IHSA contest. At the Charleston HS EIU Invite, the boys finished 5th out of 19 Schools. Four runners medaled: Cameron Roedl placed 16th with a time of 16:32, Riley Morgan placed 32nd with a time of 17:32, Gavin Whitaker placed 36th with a time of 17:40, and Kaleb Bierman placed 38th with a time of 17:43. Congratulations! Varsity will run at First to Finish in Peoria and the JV will run at Shelbyville on Saturday.
