Several Cumberland Middle School students were selected to participate in the ILMEA Jr. Vocal Jazz Festival at Millikin University on November 3rd! The students rehearsed all day with other top music students from around central Illinois and performed a concert for the public. The book fair is coming! Purchases can be made from Monday, October 20, through Friday, October 24. The book fair will be open for the students Monday-Thursday, and it will also be open during parent-teacher conferences. Check out the e-wallet option, so students don't have to handle the money.

Mrs. Kingery's 8th grade English class completed a comma escape room game recently. Students had to identify where commas belonged in sentences and paragraphs. Students also matched comma rules to sentences. A secret code was given at each station for students to decipher after working through all four stations. 8th graders had a great time learning about commas and trying to escape the game!
