
Middle School XC Sectional info: Because of a parade, they are recommending that all fans be at the cross country sectional by 9:35 to avoid delays. The meet starts at 10 at Forest Park in Shelbyville.

The middle school softball team held its end-of-season awards night recently. Award winners were Liz Sudkamp - Raider Award, Kayla Heuerman - Defense Award, Kyndall Strohl - Pitching Award, Brittlin Murphy - Offense Award, Lilly McMechan - Pitching Award and Leadership Award, Lainey Reeder - Raider Award, and Katie McElravy - Leadership Award. Congratulations!



Mrs. Kingery's 8th grade English class completed a comma escape room game recently. Students had to identify where commas belonged in sentences and paragraphs. Students also matched comma rules to sentences. A secret code was given at each station for students to decipher after working through all four stations. 8th graders had a great time learning about commas and trying to escape the game!

We had a wonderful turnout for the middle school Lunch on the Lawn today. We were happy that so many of you could join us! It was great to see everyone together!











The middle school Jr. Varsity Eco team placed 2nd overall out of 21 teams at their Eco meet at Lake Shelbyville today! Congratulations!



The middle school cross country team ran at the Robinson Invitational on Wednesday. Adam Wolke ran a new PR and placed 16th out of 190 runners, and Kyler Houchin also ran a new PR and placed 42nd. For the girls' race, Paige Wolke ran a new PR and placed 14th out of 167 runners. Liz Sudkamp placed 23rd, and Ivy Brummer 26th. Marley Bierman and Lila Light both ran new PRs.

Grade School Lunch Update: There will be a couple of changes to the lunch on Tuesday, September 30. Chicken and Noodles will be served instead of Salisbury steak, and mandarin oranges will be served instead of peaches.

Mrs. Kingery's 8th grade English classes played a subject-verb agreement game this week! Students had to identify grammatically correct sentences to advance their pieces on the gameboard. Students enjoyed the game while learning about constructing grammatically correct sentences with subjects and verbs!




5th grade band sign-ups are scheduled for Tuesday, September 30, from 3:15 to 6:30 PM. Mr. Ozier would like everyone interested to meet on sign-up night, but attendance is not required to join the band. If you have questions, please contact Mr. Ozier at bozier@cumberland.k12.il.us.


Come out and cheer on our 8th grade runners at their final home meet on Wednesday, September 24! The first race begins at 4:00. The 8th graders will be after before the race. We appreciate the time and commitment these athletes have given to the program!
