SPRINGFIELD, IL – During the annual banquet of the IASC State Student Council Convention, Cumberland High School senior Haley Bland was recognized as the recipient of the "Pillar of Community Service" award.

This distinguished honor is reserved for student leaders who demonstrate an extraordinary personal commitment to the betterment of their schools and communities. Haley, the daughter of Scott and Christina Bland of Greenup, has been a cornerstone of the Cumberland Student Council. Her leadership is defined by an innate sense of duty and a tireless work ethic that serves as a silent yet powerful example for her peers to pursue service excellence.

The award celebrates not only Haley’s individual energy and time but also her ability to lead through habit and loyalty, qualities that have left a mark on her school and community.

Haley was accompanied to the state capital by her fellow student council members, sponsors Mrs. Janet Blade and Ms. Shelia Plummer, and Principal Daniel Huffman.
