Online Registration for the 2022-2023 school year is now open and will remain open until August 5. Log in to TeacherEase to begin your registration. You should have received login information via email last week. If you did not receive an email, please contact your child’s school at (217)923-3132 for assistance. New families to the District may register at their child’s school during the week of August 8. Please contact the school at (217)923-3132 to set up an appointment. The schools will be open for registration help during the week of August 8 from 8:30-1:00. Updates about the school lunch and breakfast program for the 2022-2023 school year: - The USDA’s “Free Meals For All” program that began two years ago has expired and regular prices will be charged this year. An article about the changes is linked to this post. - Lunch will cost $2.70 and Breakfast will cost $1.25. -Money can be added to your child’s account during online registration or by bringing a check to the school. - Free & Reduced Meal Forms are available on the school website on the Registration tab. https://www.fns.usda.gov/cn/2022-23-parent-faqs

This is a reminder that there will be youth football sign-ups this coming Wednesday, June 15th from 6:00 - 7:30 PM in the elementary school cafeteria. Youth football will be available to any student that will be entering 3rd thru 8th grade for the upcoming 2022-2023 school year. The registration fee will be $80. Incoming 3rd graders will have the option to play tackle or flag football.(Information on flag football will be given at the beginning of the upcoming school year). If your child is interested in participating in the youth football camp there will be information on getting them signed up for that at this time also. There will be an additional sign-up on Tuesday, June 21st from 6:00 - 7:30 PM in the elementary school cafeteria as well. If you have any questions you can contact Lucas Watkins at 217-714-1252.

3rd place team 3A boys state track meet

Toledo Spring Festival parade has been moved to Sunday, May 22, at 11 AM. The band will not be able to perform due to the change in date.

Early Dismissal

Cumberland Schools will participate in Hat Day and Purple Day on Monday, May 16, to raise money for the Lupus Society of Illinois and the Greenup Lupus Support Group. Students may wear a hat with a $1 donation.

Mrs. Conlin's students wanted to do something special for their teachers this week so they made thank you cards and flower bouquets! These students are awesome!

Household Hazardous Waste Event 5/14

Hello Parents/Guardians of Cumberland Elementary School: We are excited that we are having a successful year and looking forward to completing our annual tasks. One of those tasks involves all 3rd-4th grade students participating in the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) testing. Testing will be April 4th-8th. These assessments do not define our students but are a snapshot of learning and instruction for continuous improvement. Please encourage your child to eat a good breakfast or participate in our breakfast program. A good night’s sleep will assist them during these tests. The students will take one assessment each day that will last around 60-90 minutes. The rest of the day will be as normal as possible. If your child will be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2022, he/she needs to be pre-registered for Kindergarten. Please start the process at the Google Form link below. Parents of students attending Lerna Bridges School: Due to the Mattoon and Charleston school districts dismissing early today, the Lerna Bridges School will also have early dismissal.

2's Day Fun Coming Soon!

The Elementary and Middle School will be participating in some Twos-Day fun on February 22, 2022. If anyone would like to order a Two-Riffic Day t-shirt, fill out an order form and return it with payment to the grade school by February 2.
