
To bring awareness of Patriots' Day today, Carrie Verdeyen brought to each school an artifact from the September 11 attacks in New York for the students to view. The metal she brought was part of a beam from one of the Twin Towers. The artifact will soon be housed at the Veterans Memorial in Toledo.





Mrs. Smyser's 3rd graders have been studying the continents. Today, they made a globe and added all seven continents!

Eastern Illinois Foodbank's new Foodmobile will be visiting Cumberland County to distribute free groceries this week. They will visit Cumberland County on the first Thursday of the month. The Foodmobile will be at these locations Thursday, September 7:

National School Attendance Awareness Month kicks off today! Every school day is a learning opportunity. School attendance matters for every student every day!


The 2nd graders decided to take advantage of the heat today with a science experiment! Today was definitely hot enough to melt crayons!











Mrs. Carlen’s kindergarten class completed a Brown Bear Write Around the Room this afternoon! They searched all over the classroom for pictures of animals from their chart and then traced the number they saw.







Students in 4th grade designed book covers that will be hung up at Coffee and Creams in Toledo, IL. Make sure you stop by to check them out!


It was a great first day of school! We are looking forward to seeing everyone again tomorrow!
