As the Class of 2000 celebrates its 25th reunion, we’re proud to highlight five of the class's alumni who have come full circle; each returning to work at Cumberland! Help us welcome Matt Sudkamp to Cumberland!
Matt Sudkamp is new to the maintenance team at Cumberland. He previously worked at a sawmill. Matt plans to show the students a great work ethic and a positive attitude. He looks forward to learning the ins and outs of the district and the job.
Matt is married to Racheal Sudkamp. They have two daughters, Elizabeth and Eleanor. Matt was raised in Greenup and now lives in Toledo. He enjoys cooking, coaching, hunting, fishing, and anything outdoors.

Miss Hemmen will be teaching 1st grade at Cumberland Elementary School this year. The Indiana State University graduate earned a degree in elementary education with a minor in early childhood education. She was a student teacher in 4th grade at Cumberland last spring.
Miss Hemmen looks forward to building strong relationships with students and their families. She is excited to watch the students grow throughout the year.
Miss Hemmen enjoys traveling, baking, hanging out with friends, and watching the Steelers.

We would like to welcome Daniel Huffman to his new role as Cumberland High School principal. Mr. Huffman began his teaching career at Cumberland in 2000 and became the principal of Cumberland Elementary in 2015. He is eager to take on this new challenge. He is committed to supporting all students as they explore their college and career paths, as well as participate in extracurricular activities and interscholastic opportunities. His focus will be on ensuring that high school students in our community receive the education needed to thrive in an increasingly complex and ever-changing world.
As a lifelong resident of Cumberland County, Mr. Huffman is a proud 1994 graduate of Cumberland High School. He was raised on the family farm, which is still maintained by his parents, Julian and Sally Huffman. He has one sister, Lisa Cole, and brother-in-law, Dan. Mr. Huffman is also a proud uncle to two nephews, Colin Cole and Andrew Cole, as well as a great uncle to Reed and Lorelai Cole. He has a doodle named Ruby and is fortunate to have many supportive friends whom he considers family.
Mr. Huffman enjoys traveling and has visited thirty-six states and two countries. In his leisure time, he likes Jeeping, running, and listening to music and podcasts.

Today, we held New Teacher Orientation, and we are very excited to welcome our new educators to our team! Stay tuned, because over the next week, we will be introducing each new teacher individually. We are happy to have them aboard!

Mrs. McElravy is honored to take on the role of elementary principal and looks forward to serving the Cumberland community. She said, “It is a privilege to support our youngest learners at the very start of their educational journey.”
Mrs. McElravy would like to foster a strong relationship between the school and the families in our community, sharing in our aspiration to help every student reach their highest potential. She said, “I believe that by supporting our school community, we can create an environment where students don’t just succeed—they soar beyond what we ever thought possible.”
Mrs. McElravy is married to Josh McElravy. Their children are Elijah (Senior at UIUC), Maddy (Junior), Katie (8th), Luke (6th), and Tate (pre-K).
