Today, our schools came together for our annual Veterans Day program to recognize and thank the brave men and women who have served our country. The event featured several musical performances, an inspiring keynote address, and a special moment to acknowledge each veteran in attendance.

The CHS student council and grade schools announced the donations they will make to the Heritage Shelter Care for veterans in Hutsonville. We also celebrated our Patriots Pen essay scholarship winners.

We are grateful to all who joined us and helped make this day special. ❤️🤍💙

This week is National School Bus Safety Week. Please help us to keep all students safe by following these procedures. IT IS THE LAW!

What to do when you see a school bus:
SLOW DOWN: Yellow flashing lights means the bus is preparing to stop!
STOP COMPLETELY: You MUST come to a complete stop when the red lights are flashing and/or the stop arm is extended. This applies to traffic in BOTH directions.
WAIT TO PROCEED: DO NOT begin moving until the red lights are off, stop arm is retracted and the bus begins to move.
BE EXTRA CAUTIOUS: Children are at the highest risk in the area around a school bus, often called the “danger zone”. They can be unpredictable and may dart into the street.

What to avoid:
NEVER pass on the right: This is the side where children enter and exit the bus, and it is illegal and can be fatal.
AVOID Distractions: Stay focused on the road AT ALL TIMES! Avoid using electronic devices.

Legal Requirement: All states require drivers to stop for a stopped school bus with flashing red lights and an extended stop arm.
