The CHS Lady Pirates are hosting a basketball camp May 22-24. Girls in grades 1-8 for the 2024-25 school year are invited to attend. All schools are welcome. The cost of the camp is $40, and this includes a camp t-shirt. To guarantee a t-shirt, money must be turned in to the school by May 10. Students in the district will receive eclipse glasses to use at home on Monday, April 8. Here is some information about the eclipse and viewing it safely.

The baseball game scheduled today (3-26) at Lawrenceville has been canceled.

Reminder: School will dismiss at 2:20 on Wednesday, March 27. Easter Break is from March 28 - April 1. School resumes on April 2.

Cumberland Middle School will hold its 8th grade recognition ceremony at 6 PM on Wednesday, May 15. The 8th grade dance will follow immediately after the ceremony until 9 PM in the old gym. May 15 will be the last day of attendance for the 8th grade students for the 2023-2024 school year.

Cumberland is hosting the 31st Annual Boys Central Illinois All-Star Basketball Game featuring senior basketball players from the LPC and the NTC on Sunday, March 24. The 3-point contest begins at 6:05 PM and game tip-off is 6:30 PM.

The Cumberland School District and Project HELP Preschool will be offering free developmental screenings on Monday, April 15, from 12:30-6:00, and Tuesday, April 16, from 9:00-2:00, at the Toledo Christian Church. For an appointment, please call the grade school office at (217)923-3135.

Congratulations to the Cumberland High School Scholastic Bowl team for advancing to the IHSA State Tournament!!! The team competed on Saturday, March 9, at Sullivan High School. CHS went 3-0, defeating Stewardson-Strasburg, Villa Grove, and St. Anthony. The IHSA State Tournament will be held at Heartland Community College in Bloomington, IL, on Saturday, March 16. Matches will start at 10 am. Good Luck!!

Students from the region were recognized at the Illinois Principal's Association reception last night. Cumberland's IPA Student Recipients for 2023-24 are Eden Fitch, Adam Flessner, Denton Nebel, Jr., Faith Brown, Jude Miller, and Cody Farris (not pictured). Congratulations students!
