This year, Cumberland is saying goodbye to 7 staff members who are retiring at the end of the school year. With a combined total of 175 years of service to education, these staff members will be dearly missed.
After a 32-year career in education, including 23 years right here dedicated to our community, Todd Hall is retiring. Mr. Hall was a high school social studies teacher and an administrator at Cumberland. Students enjoyed Mr. Hall’s classes, especially his debates, where even students who weren’t in the class asked if they could join in. Thank you for your leadership and guidance, Mr. Hall.
With 34 years in education, Sheila Plummer has worn many hats. She began her career as a junior high science teacher but later became the high school guidance counselor. Mrs. Plummer was there for many students, working through class schedules and scholarship applications. She also spent many years as a student council sponsor. Thank you for your commitment to our students!
After 20 years in the district, Bill Ault has made an impact with students as a paraprofessional and coach. Mr. Ault has supported students in his classes, but he has also helped them grow athletically as a high school football coach and track coach. Thank you, Mr. Ault, for your support on and off the field.
Karen Stults has provided 19 years of dedicated service as a paraprofessional. From snacks, sewing, reading tests, or providing a listening ear, Mrs. Stults has been someone whom students and staff could always rely on. Thank you for your kindness, patience, and support for those in the district.
For 18 years, Terri McGinnis has been the friendly face ensuring our students started and ended their days safely as their bus driver. When Terri wasn’t on the bus, students always asked when she would be back. Thank you for your dedication and care for the students of the district!
Tammy Hall has provided 17 years of heart and dedication as a special education teacher with the district. Mrs. Hall’s class provided a nurturing environment where students could be themselves and grow academically. Thank you for believing in your students and making a difference every day!
For 8 years, Dean Carrell safely transported our students as a dedicated bus driver. The kids loved riding on Dean’s bus and looked forward to seeing him. Thank you for your service and for being such a reliable part of our students’ day!
Retirees, your lasting impact will remain in the hallways, classrooms, and hearts of everyone here at Cumberland. Happy Retirement!
